Veterans Affairs, Labor Issue SGAs for Homeless Veteran Assistance Grants

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Labor published notices announcing the availability of funds for homeless veteran assistance programs in today's Federal Register.

A Notice of Funding Availability has been issued for the Capital Grants component of the VA Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem Program (GPD). The VA expects to award approximately $10 million under this NOFA to organizations for construction, acquisition or renovation of facilities to provide transitional housing with supportive services for homeless veterans. The application deadline for this round of GPD funding is June 14.

The Department of Labor-Veteran Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS) has issued three Solicitations for Grant Applications (SGA) under the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program for new, non-urban and urban employment assistance programs designed to help homeless veterans prepare for and re-enter the nation's work force. DOL-VETS has also issued a SGA for Veterans Workforce Investment Program (VWIP) grants in the amount of $6.9 million. The application deadline for these grant programs is May 22.
