Affairs, Labor Issue SGAs for Homeless Veteran Assistance Grants
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Labor published
notices announcing the availability of funds for homeless veteran assistance
programs in today's Federal Register.
A Notice of Funding Availability has been issued for the Capital Grants
component of the VA Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem Program (GPD). The VA
expects to award approximately $10 million under this NOFA to organizations for
construction, acquisition or renovation of facilities to provide transitional
housing with supportive services for homeless veterans. The application deadline
for this round of GPD funding is June 14.
The Department of Labor-Veteran Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS) has
issued three Solicitations for Grant Applications (SGA) under the Homeless
Veterans Reintegration Program for new, non-urban and urban employment
assistance programs designed to help homeless veterans prepare for and re-enter
the nation's work force. DOL-VETS has also issued a SGA for Veterans Workforce
Investment Program (VWIP) grants in the amount of $6.9 million. The application
deadline for these grant programs is May 22.
